Mark Zhakevich

(Shepherd)

Born and raised in Russia, Mark was ten years old when his family immigrated to Los Angeles. Soon after their arrival, Mark’s family joined Grace Community Church. Growing up at Grace Church, he was regularly reminded to invest his life into the work of God’s kingdom. After working in business for five years, Mark decided to pursue full time ministry. When Mark graduated from The Master’s Seminary in 2007, Rick Holland, asked him to join Grace Church staff as his personal assistant. Mark continues to assist Rick with daily responsibilities at the church while continuing his studies at TMS in the Master of New Testament Theology program.

Young Leon

(Staff)

Young and his wife, Laura, were married in 1998, have two children and have been serving together in Grace Church’s College Ministry leadership since 1997. His philosophy of ministry is summed up in Mark 10:45: “For even the Son of Man did not come to be served, but to serve, and to give His life a ransom for many.”

When asked why he still serves in Crossroads Ministry after all these years his response is, “These are the years when the concrete starts to solidify in the path of your decisions, habits, and convictions; both good and bad. My hope is that I can somehow be a help in guiding these younger folks with biblical wisdom as they walk with God in pursuit of Christ-likeness. Christ is the true light and I am just a reflector on the road that makes an annoying sound if you aren’t going the right way.”

Young also really likes metaphors.
